Adipur began in 1947 as a refugee settlement after the Partition. The initiative is credited to Bhai Pratap Dialdas, who sought land through Mahatma Gandhi to resettle Sindhi Hindu families; the Maharaja of Kutch provided land and the Sindhu Resettlement Corporation managed the settlement.
